Lactation Consult
Whether you just want to be sure your baby is transferring milk from breast to belly or you have serious issues to work through, we will get you back on track!
Cara Banks, IBCLC, will come to your home for a private, custom-tailored lactation consult. Every breastfeeding journey is so unique, which is why every in-home visit looks different.

Prenatal Consult
Congratulations! Expecting a new little one is an exciting time for you and your family!
Whether this is your first or your fourth pregnancy, if you have chosen to breastfeed your baby, you want to be prepared. A prenatal lactation consult will help you make a plan for breastfeeding your new little one.

Weaning Consult
Whatever your reason for weaning, whatever your timeline, we can help!
We will work together to develop a weaning plan that respects both your and your baby’s needs.
We can develop a plan for partial weaning due to a return to work, night weaning so you no longer have to nurse throughout the night, complete weaning due to medical reasons, etc.

Bottle Refusal Support
Breastfed babies often struggle to take a bottle. This can be super stressful if you can’t be with your baby and you need them to eat! We will work together to figure out what is causing the bottle refusal and to teach your baby to accept a bottle.
Ideally, we will work together to troubleshoot exactly why baby is refusing a bottle, talk about the steps baby needs to take for bottle feeding, and how they are different from breastfeeding. We will address any oral defensiveness or other issues that may cause your baby to reject the bottle. We will develop a customized training plan to help baby accept a bottle and provide recommendations for bottles/nipples that would work best for your unique baby, AND MORE!

Inducing Lactation Support
If you are adopting a baby, planning to co-nurse with a partner, or becoming a parent via surrogacy, but you want to offer your baby your own milk, we can help! Even without having been pregnant, you CAN make milk for your little one.
Ideally, we will work together to develop a complete plan before the arrival of your little one, including preparing your body to make milk, pumping/milk expression schedules, etc. Once baby arrives, we can help with anything else you might need, like latch and positioning, transitioning from bottle to breast, or continuing to pump and offer baby a bottle.
You may also wish to re-lactate after a break from breastfeeding. We can help you get back on track here, too!
