Support another breastfeeding family by giving to our lactation care scholarship fund. Because some families don’t have health insurance, and some health. insurance companies find ways to deny lactation care.

Why give?
-
✽
Health insurance plans vary greatly. Some cover in-person lactation care, others will only cover virtual care, still others deny claims until parents simply give up.
-
✽
When a family needs hands-on help with breastfeeding, they shouldn’t have to choose between getting the care they need, and giving up on feeing their baby in the way they want to just because of the cost of health insurance.
-
✽
When parents seek help from an IBCLC, babies thrive, and parents are much more likely to meet their feeding goals. Parents who have access to IBCLCs don’t just have access to evidence-based information — they feel empowered, supported, and are more likely to feel comfortable with feeding decisions.

Natural? Easy? Actually, breastfeeding is a skill.
In a world that says breastfeeding is free and automatic, the reality parents experience requires expert, compassionate care.
-The Lactation Network
Families shouldn’t have to do this alone.
Breastfeeding is most successful when parents are surrounded by a community of support people, which include their families, friends, pediatricians AND a feeding expert, an IBCLC.
Make a donation.
If you want to help support families in our community to feed their babies in the way that they choose, please consider making a donation. Your contribution will go toward helping families to breastfeed, pump, chestfeed, combination feed, and more! Your donation will be added to the Heirloom Lactation scholarship fund and will be used to pay for lactation services for families who can not afford it and whose health insurance will not cover it.
